DESCRIPTION
AR Contracting Services have completed stages 1 to 7 of the residential subdivision at Minters Field, Mount Barker.
The project required the construction of major roadworks including Heysen Boulevard, bulk earthworks under level 1 supervision, provision of a new roundabout and development entrance from Barker Road. Heysen Boulevard will become a major arterial road in Mount Barker and forms part of the council’s long-term development plan. This road and the roundabout were constructed to DPTI standards and fulfil the quality requirements as specified in the contract. Works also included 10,000m of sewer, water and stormwater reticulation and common service trenching.
CHALLENGE
The roundabout works were staged to minimise the impact on traffic on Barker Road and to control dust and noise pollution. Traffic management was carefully planned to allow access to builders and local residents and to ensure safety for workers and the general public.
