DESCRIPTION
AR Contracting Services constructed wetlands in Aston Hills covering an area of approximately 10,000m2. A clay liner was constructed in the base of the wetlands at a compacted thickness of 400mm to reduce the permeability and retain permanent water storage and wetlands planting. A GPS system was utilised in the earthworks to assist in completing the integrate shaped basins.
CHALLENGE
As the low-lying wetlands were constructed during the winter months, a soil erosion drainage management plan had to be implemented to manage stormwater and sediment runoff. This was done by using diversion drains and silt fences.
